Development 2:
The painting I created for this project was to conclude the idea of how cultures and ethnicities are different in several aspects. I took a classic American family picture and used it as a reference picture for my painting. Once I got the sketch done, I started to paint. Once I finished painting the background, I thought about what I could do with the clothing the figures wear. I decided that it would be really intriguing to use different art styles; therefore, I took two different art forms and combined them together. I painted the background and collaged images of three separate events from different parts of the world as the figure's clothing.

Problematic occurrences:
Global Studies:
The global studies portion was the main aspect of my project that I needed to build my other portions off of. I created a complex mind map that introduces new ideas and new ways of thinking by connecting the Arab Springs, North Korean Defectors, and the Mexican Drug Cartels together in some way. By creating a mind map, I believe that I showed these new understandings and ideas in a way where people can ask further questions and make their own connections through these occurrences. *Most of these connections were discussed and further elaborated during presentations* |
Arab Springs
North Korean Defectors Mexican Drug Cartels English:
My english portion consists of a six page script based on four characters with different ethnicities. They discuss different topics like corrupt governments and their life experiences. Tensions arise between some of the characters while others stay at ease. I decided to write a script because in order to achieve the thinking skill of synthesis, the character's are having conversations and experiencing something that other's may not have before. It's new in a way where there is no other writing exactly like this, where there's four strangers, a Mexican, an Arab, an American, and North Korean all having dinner together discussing delicate topics. |
